Amazing photos of yours truly by the absolutely fantastic and talented Jessika Dolph.

“The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things,
but their inward significance.”
— Aristotle

I don’t take pictures of what something looked like.
I take them for what it meant

I’m Heidi—the artist behind Ginger Snapshots®. And I’m not here to stage moments or chase trends. I’m here to capture the kind of memory that makes you ache in the best possible way.

The way your partner looked at you before they spoke. The scrunch of your child’s nose when they laughed too hard. The light that hit just right, and no one else noticed—but I did. And now it’s yours forever.

My photography isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present.

It’s about preserving the soft, fleeting, breathtaking reality of being human. Because time moves fast, and nostalgia hits harder than we ever think it will. The truth is: what feels small now might one day
be the moment you miss the most.

I studied literature, I lived in stories, I worked at Disney, I learned how to build magic—and then I left all of that behind to tell real stories. Yours.

Not the ones we pose for, but the ones we live.

I don’t want to be your photographer because you need
someone with a nice camera.

I want to be your photographer because I will remember for you.

Because someday, these images will be what’s left—
and they’ll be full of meaning, not just appearance.

Because this isn’t just photography.
This is the art of meaning.
And you? You are already art.

Memories Preserved

Ginger Snapshots® began with an outdated camera, one lens, and a quiet conviction that memory deserved more than documentation—it deserved devotion.

This wasn’t a happy accident. It was an act of will. Built in stolen hours, edited between jobs and newborn naps, shaped by instinct and emotion and the unshakable belief that beauty isn’t something you stage—it’s something you notice.

It’s knowing when to step back and when to lean in. It’s years of listening deeply, observing closely, and learning how to turn a fleeting moment into something that lasts.

The name? It’s a little cheeky, a little defiant. A wink at my red hair, sure—but also at the fire beneath it. Ginger Snapshots® was never meant to blend in. It’s cinematic. It’s deliberate. It’s rooted in movement, mood, and meaning.

This brand was built for the romantics and the realists, for the loud laughers and soft feelers, for anyone who wants to be seen—not styled.

This isn’t work I do on autopilot. It’s a practice. A discipline. A promise I make to every client who lets me into their world: I will see you clearly. I will hold space for your story. I will give it back to you with reverence.

Ginger Snapshots® isn’t defined by a backdrop, a preset, or a price tag. It’s defined by the people who trust me with their truth. I bring the light, the shadow, the rhythm. You bring the vulnerability, the history, the soul. Together, we make something that matters.

Over time, this work has become more than photography. It’s become a kind of archive—for the chaos and calm of weddings, the grit and grace of parenthood, the poetry of portraits, and the quiet, holy ache of ordinary life. Ginger Snapshots® is for the people who feel too much and love too hard and know how fast everything goes. It's for the ones who want to remember.

Because Ginger Snapshots® isn’t just about photography.

It’s about proof.
That you were here. That it mattered.
That your life looked like this, yes—but more importantly, that it felt like this.

Choosing your photographer isn’t just about who has the prettiest pictures. It’s about trust. It’s about care. It’s about knowing that the person holding the camera understands how much these moments mean—and treats them with the reverence they deserve.

Whether we work together or not, here’s my wish for you:

Protect your memories.

There are far too many stories of couples getting ghosted, left without images, or handed heartbreak instead of heirlooms.

So please, before you book anyone—even me—ask the right questions:

  • Do they carry insurance? (Ask to see proof. Many venues require it.)

  • Will they provide a formal contract outlining your rights and protections?

  • Can you view full wedding galleries—not just curated highlight reels?

  • Are their reviews genuine, detailed, and consistent across platforms?

  • What’s their contingency plan in case of illness or emergency?

  • Do they carry backup gear for both shooting and storage?

  • Do they invoice through secure business systems—not peer-to-peer payment apps?

These aren’t awkward questions—they’re essential ones. Anyone worth your time will welcome them with transparency and respect.

And if the stories I tell feel like the kind of storytelling you want wrapped around your own—let’s talk. A quick phone call or video chat is the next step to see if we’re the right fit.

No pressure.

Just heart.

Just honesty.

Just someone who believes your love story deserves to be told boldly, beautifully, and with deep intention.

Thank you for considering me.
